Ardessia

This was made at a rehearsal of the 2001 Carlmont High School dance troupe show that I was lucky enough to be allowed to shoot.  Ardessia had just taken the stage and was waiting for the other dancers to take their place.  I moved a bit to one side to center her on the white curtain which was behind her.  The white curtain created a better contrast with her hair and her figure while the black background still contrasted well with her arms.  This was perhaps the most compelling moment of the show.  I like the space that Ardessia's presence commands.

This photograph was shot with my favorite lens, a Nikkor 105/2, on Delta 3200 pushed to 6400.
